​FEBRUARY IS BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Lake Alfred's Black History will be highlighted through the work of Historian/Researcher Dean Moss McCracken on the Rosenwald Schools and the Friendly Garden Club sharing decades of community history and involvement.

* Unforeseen circumstances have prevented Native American Historian Jim (Sawgrass) Boettner from participating this year, as previously advertised.  Jim has worked diligently with us to find excellent replacements well-known and recommended by him . . THE SHOW WILL GO ON!!  We are pleased to present Jeremy Bryant who will be educating us on the lives, homes, and culture of Native Americans from the 1750's through the Seminole era in Florida.  He will be joined by Otter Oliver, wife Dakota Shaw, and young son Denni  who will delight us with Native Song and Dance in full regalia representing their respective reservations and culture.  You won't want to miss this!


​*  1700-1800's PIONEER VILLAGE "Lake Alfred Junction" will be presented for the first time with the help and support of Florida Frontiersmen members displaying authentic trades of old and pioneer history.  Florida Frontiersmen, Inc. is a 501 C-3 non-profit organization sponsoring the Alafia River Rendezvous each January on their Homeland, FL property.
